Cancellation Policy
Our clinic has a strict appointment cancellation policy. Patients are required to provide at least 2 hours’ notice if they need to cancel or reschedule their appointment.
A cancellation fee will apply if an appointment is cancelled less than 2 hours before the scheduled appointment time or if the patient fails to attend without prior notice. The fees are as follows:
- Standard consultation: $40
- Long consultation: $70
First-Time Non-Attendance: If a patient fails to attend their scheduled appointment for the first time, a warning will be issued via email. Further instances of non-attendance may incur the applicable cancellation fee.
Patients who do not attend their scheduled appointment may be contacted by telephone to determine whether a further appointment is required and, if so, to arrange a new appointment. All cancellations and non-attendances will be recorded in the practice’s computer system in accordance with clinic procedures, ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained for medico-legal purposes.

What is MyMedicare?
The Australian Government has introduced a new voluntary patient registration model called MyMedicare to drive improvements in primary health care for all Australians and deliver new funding packages to primary care providers. MyMedicare will strengthen the relationship between patients and their health care teams by allowing patients to register with their regular general practice and select their preferred GP and providers within the practice. This registration aims to strengthen the relationship between you, your GP, and the team at Burwood Brickworks Medical Centre. For more information, please see the Registering in MyMedicare Factsheet for Patients.
What are the benefits of MyMedicare for our patients?
The key benefits to you include better access, better continuity of care, and better planning. Registration in MyMedicare is not compulsory, however it is recommended to improve continuity of care for patients. You can also change your mind and leave the program at any time. It does not affect your Medicare rights or benefits. Please reach out to our team if you have any questions.
